On Bonfire Sunday 12 of the allotment site children made and decorated funny faces which would grow their own hair! Organised by Rita, the children stuffed the feet of tights with cotton wool, topped with grass seed so that when the faces grew green hair over the following week or two they could play hairdressing! They decorated them with googly eyes and coloured paper to make noses and mouths.Thanks to Rita and to donations from two plotholders.

A traditional welly throwing contest followed, for children and adults, to see who could win a trophy by throwing a gardener’s welly boot the furthest.

The afternoon finished with a barbecue and fireworks (and plot holders can log in to read more ).
