Adults and children were thrilled by the London Fire Brigade fire engine that came to our fabulous allotment open day Sunday 5 July 2009.

The London Fire Brigade fire engine and crew from Walthamstow came to demonstrate equipment for fighting fires and dealing with other incidents. They also gave out leaflets and stickers and information about fire safety and the fire service. One lucky gardener had his plot watered by the fire hose, and others had a go with the metal cutter. Kids tried on helmets and sat in the fire engine cab.
