Committee members supervised and did preparatory work – Peter Aiano, Imogen Radford, Peter Moore and Eric Als, and and gardeners helped on the day and lent their tools and wheelbarrows. The Forest Recycling Project helped with free recycled paint and with delivery of the scaffolding boards donated by a local scaffolding boards donated by local scaffolding firm, Fourways Plant Ltd (020 8884 3339) and the London Borough of Waltham Forest provided other materials.

We also had a first aid box available, donated by Spartan Safety Limited.

Community Service Volunteers organised the visit by the volunteers, and helped in sourcing materials, checking the health and safety and other aspects of the project, and made it happen. CSV bring together teams of employees in a wide range of companies and organisations with community groups to get much-needed work done.

The work done on the visit has made a real difference to our allotment site. We already have beds lined up for one of gardeners who had to give up because of difficulties gardening in the traditional way. We are looking forward to using the newly decorated community shed for our next children’s activity, and the improved bunkers are already keeping the compost material tidier.
