Walthamstow Stadium has always been a landmark for the allotment site. If we want to tell anyone where we are we always say 'opposite Walthamstow Stadium', because it is so well-known. It is a also landmark from the allotment site. Plot holders tell the time by its clock and they think about going home when its lights come on.

The stadium management have always been very helpful to us. They have helped with extra parking for our open days, and for the last two years generously sponsoring our annual site gardening competition by engraving trophies and providing beautiful plaques for competition winners to keep. In 2007 they very kindly established a new third prize trophy for the competition.

The prize-giving ceremony in 2007 was at a social event and open day on 2 September at the allotment site, which also included tombola and a buffet prepared by plot holders from their own fresh produce. Read more about the event here

They have again promised to sponsor our competition in 2008, and this year the competition is encouraging some wildlife friendly gardening.
