hm07beeplum.jpgWe are delighted that Hoxton Manor Allotments Natural Honey, prepared by our beekeeper, is now on sale at the Saturday organic food stall in Hoe Street, open 10-3 every week.

A weekly organic market is held on Saturdays from 10 till 3 at the Hornbeam Environmental Centre in Hoe St, E17, near to Bakers Arms corner - Read more. The first regular stall of its kind in Waltham Forest, it is supplied by Eostre Organics, a farmers' coop from Norfolk who work with other cooperatives across Europe. Also for sale is ultra-local East London organic produce - grown and harvested by people in the borough. For details of other organic market stalls in London, visit Eostre.

Hoxton Manor allotments has a bee apiary, and our beekeeper prepares natural honey for sale at events, such as our 6 July open day, and to other outlets. Fruit and vegetable growers need bees to pollinate and produce a crop, and the bees need the flowers to produce honey.

Natural honey is made by the bees and poured into jars.Nothing is taken out; nothing is added. Natural honey varies during the year in taste, colour and consistency, depending on what the bees are feeding on. In spring it's sloe, apple and plum blossom, while in summer it's runner bean and courgette flowers and lime blossom. Whatever time of the year it's always delicious and fresh from Hoxton Manor Allotments in Chingford.
